Don’t Give Up Five Minutes Before the Miracle

Don't Give UpWhen I first met Sam, he was on the verge of giving up and taking a job.  He had been struggling for months trying to set up his coaching business.  In the past 5 months, Sam had attended a staggering 75 network meetings, written a blog 3 times a week and invested in both online and offline programs for startup coaches.  He had followed up on leads, spent money on advertising and engaged his own coach.

Still, Sam hadn’t signed up one coaching client, except for a few friends and they were freebies. His resources were slowly being eaten up and he was starting to get really worried.

Should he start being realistic and quit?  Was it time to take a real job?  These questions kept him awake at night.  But he was passionate about coaching and he knew that if he could just get a few clients to begin with then he would be on his way.  But it just wasn’t happening.  Sam had spent in excess of $10,000 at this stage and he was pretty reluctant to part with more money when nothing much else had worked.

Sam’s problem is not isolated.  Every industry has its share of quitters because they either run out of money or motivation.

In Sam’s case, he was desperately running out of motivation and he felt so discouraged that it was becoming harder to carry on in the vain hope that everything would work out.

Sam’s coach had worked with him on his motivation and mindset for a number of months, but unfortunately Sam still wasn’t able to keep motivated and positive.  He actually felt like a loser and although he was ‘doing’ all the right things, he was feeling like it was never going to work.

As most of us know the Law of Attraction is always working.  The vibration that Sam was giving out actually repelled potential clients and kept him from achieving the success he tried so hard to find.

Working cognitively is not always very effective when we have blocks to our success because some of them run quite deep and have strong emotional charges on them. Sam had read one of my posts or blogs about Tapping and how it cuts through blocks with little resistance and decided to give it a try.

After one session in which Sam was taught how to apply Energy Psychology to his feelings of failure and the idea of giving up, he started to have a turn around, first in his thinking and second in having a client book his service for a 3 month package.  By the end of the 3rd session, Sam was well and truly confident of his business success.  He did not of course, have a fully booked program but he radiated the type of confidence necessary to generate the business he needed.  He knew that success was around the corner for him.  Quitting was not an option.  And he continued to upgrade his results with Tapping.

Thank God Sam did not give up 5 minutes before the miracle.  My message is to never give up, despite how rough the going might get.

You don’t have to have sessions with a coach to be able to apply Tapping to your life and create better outcomes.  My free ebook on this site, The Five Minute Miracle is a good place to start learning about it.

And if you would like to join some like minded souls who are learning how to rewire their brains for success, then come and join us.  You would be most welcome.

I read these all the time. And, I know this goes contrary to your beliefs. But, I have dealt with the other side of this situation about 30 times more frequently than one observes the situation to which you allude.
The problem is that one rarely knows if one is 5 minutes ahead of a miracle or 20 minutes into terminal destruction. The trick is to have a business plan, measure your results against the plan, and NEVER, EVER spend more capital than you can afford or have appropriated.
Yes, you may miss that miracle (should it even come), but you will also miss those odd numbers- 7, 11, and 13!

      Hi Roy,

I’m not really sure what you mean by your response, especially the part about the odd numbers. If you mean that I don’t believe in having a business plan or taking practical action, then that’s not true. I do believe very strongly in the power of mindset because I know that not only does matter, it has a very significant impact. Brian Tracey, Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins and every successful entrepreneur I can think of do not subscribe to what realistic people them to do. My own accountant once told me to stop throwing good money after bad. Thankfully, I didn’t listen to him, but persisted with a massive change of mindset and went on to a create a very successful business against all the odds.

I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree again, but that’s OK. That’s what makes the world an interesting place.

      Thanks for commenting.

Sam and I could be buddies. I still haven’t found the level of success I need to define my business as successful in my eyes but I am learning. And since nobody is going to starve & the light bill will be paid I have that luxury. Keeping the positive attitude is the hardest part of my job.

      Hi Shawn,

If keeping a positive attitude the hardest part of your job then a tool like Tapping will work wonders for you. Tapping changes your mindset within minutes. You don’t need a coach or a practitioner to get started. You can elevate yourself into the peak performance zone every day. I start every day of my life clearing something that has come up, making my affirmations and goals more effective and generally feeling positive and productive and stress free.

You’ll find everything you need free on my site and there is a Facebook group called Success with EFT which is for non practitioners to learn and ask questions which I answer.

There is no need to struggle with a negative mindset because it severely hinders your growth. It’s like driving a Porsche in second gear.

      To your success

Thanks for this, Madonna. I’ve come close to giving up, and then I come across an article like this and stick with it and continue to forge ahead. Entrepreneurship is where it’s at–I’m tired of having to rely on someone else for a paycheck. It hasn’t been easy, but I’m getting there.

    • Madonna June 12, 2012 at 10:23 am #

      Hi Jenny,

I’m glad the post inspires you to keep going. That is the intention.

If you want to fast track your success, learn Tapping. Nothing changes mindset like this. It’s easy to learn and quick to apply. That’s why Sam was able to change his mind, which he was unable to do with conscious thought and even thought the need was great. Once he tapped on his thoughts, his unconscious opened up and he was able to change his limited thinking within minutes.

Give it a try. You’ve got nothing to lose. There is a free manual at my site or you can start the easy from this page What is EFT?

I would have given up years ago without Tapping.

I have often heard and read this wisdom, and thanks for the reminder. There can be no doubt of the importance of what we generally call mindset, every successful business, or sporting person will agree. I bet there is no Olympic games athletic that has got there just on talent and training. I like the Henry Ford quote that goes something like this. If you think you can, or think you cant you are right.

    • Madonna June 12, 2012 at 10:18 am #

      Hi Kerry,

You are quite right. Mindset is more important that any other aspect or activity because it determines our actions and what we create. It is most important to know that the subconscious is the most important part of mindset. Conscious thought makes up only a very small percentage in terms of outcome.

And you know the easiest and quickest way to change mindset and have a massive effect on the subconscious.

      Thanks for commenting.

Hi Maddona, my giving up tends to be associated with love and intimate relationship… I always think, don’t give up before the miracle occurs but I’ve been waiting decades!!! Of course there’s no going off to another job for this one. Any advice?

    Lots of love

      Hi Vanessa,

Yes, I do have advice, and it is advice you will relate to. You know that it is our unconscious mind which determines what we attract and create in our lives. You would also know that most of the time we make decisions about what is possible at a time when we don’t have access to all the information. They stay in our subconscious, but we forget them. These beliefs could be fear related (don’t want to get hurt again) to men are…. or a multitude of other beliefs of which we are largely unaware.

Sam’s decision was that he wasn’t going to make it as a coach and that belief was starting to play out. Once I taught him how to apply very simple energy techniques to clear the beliefs and that was accomplished, and I taught him how to visualise in the alpha state, he was able to break free.

Of course, you would also know that relationship issues are more complex that Sam’s problem, but the same principle applies. It just takes a little longer.

If you have been consciously trying to create any circumstance and it is not happening, there are still unconscious blocks. And you probably know what I’m going to say next. The easiest and fastest way to clear unconscious blocks is by Tapping. And the fastest and easiest way to install positive expectancy is by Tapping. Once those two are complete, I teach my clients to visualise effectively.

As spiritual beings we are able to create what we want, but not until we clear the unconscious blocks. Thats’ the part The Secret didn’t tell people and that’s why it didn’t work for most people.

      Hope that helps.

Vanessa: I was reading some comments an could not help, but throw in my two cents. I believe you should keep going and never give up on finding love. I think that the only way you will find love and continue to be in love is if you and your partner love hard and with everything you have. In my opinion, love with all take one hundred percent of your heart. You will not accept fifty percent of someones heart. You would not even accept seventy percent. When two people are ready to love hard, give and put thier whole heart into a relationship is when it will last.

      Best of luck with that!

I think it is a little more complex than that. When someone had had a major bad experience in childhood and then recreated in adulthood, they carry the energy still even if they think they are over it. As well as that, sometimes we put a block on relationships on order to protect ourselves and mostly they don’t realise that.

But of course you are right about the heart. In order for that to happen, we need to clear the heart of the trauma. Not always easy, and extremely rare with traditional therapies.

Thanks for commenting. It is much appreciated.

Hiya Madonna, well, except I’ve spent nearly three times as much as Sam, I’m in the same boat!! Well, kinda… 🙂 I’m trying the positive mindset… I AM!!! But it’s good that this is the second similar article I’ve seen in the last week or so, because I firmly believe the Universe is giving me a message. So I’m going to listen… and keep going. 🙂

    • Madonna June 12, 2012 at 9:50 am #

      Hi Pauline,

Thanks for your response. Obviously, the Universe is trying to give you a message. trying to maintain a positive mindset when all the evidence is against it is very difficult. And it was for me until I found EFT or Tapping. it is like the automatic way to change your mind. It enables you to stay in the peak performance zone regardless of external circumstances.

On my site there is a free manual which looks a little complex all about Tapping. Alternatively, go to the What is EFT? page and there is a quick start guide. I have also started a Facebook group called Success with EFT, which you are welcome to join and there are articles and videos to get people started and to ask questions, which I answer.

      I hope this helps.

    Thanks for the reminder, Madonna,

I’m still in my first year of self employment after 14 years of working for other people in my field.Though i do have a background of family business, so I’m familiar with the need to keep pushing on.

My wife’s family has no history of self employment, so every now and again when the cash coming in is less than that going out , she gets a bit freaked out.

I am lucky however, that I have her unconditional support and that of a great coach.

Unfortunately, it is more difficult when neither of you come form business backgrounds. My family were not in business either and breaking out the first time was quite hard. this is not my first business, so I know a little of what to expect but the rules have changed, I’m in a completely different field and technology wasn’t involved the first time.

You are very lucky to have a supportive spouse and a great coach.

      Nice to ‘meet’ you here

Hi! New visitor here from The LEARNED Preneur @ NormaDoiron.NET. Interesting article. I totally agree with you. Mindset is so important in business and every other area of life. We attract what we put out there, for sure. Words have CREATIVE power and whether we realize or not is not important. Whether we believe it doesn’t matter either, it is still the way it operates. The minute words leave our mouths they are creating for or against us. It’s a life law and that is the truth… Keep up the great work! Love what you do… Norma

      Thanks Norma,
Nice to have new commentators. I think a lot of people including myself sometimes pay lip service to the creative power of words and underestimate their ability to create our lives for better or worse.

I would love to read your post, but I’m too afraid to even think about Pinterest because I’m overwhelmed by social media and spend far too long on it at present. the idea of knowing another form of it would help my business could send me nuts. Lol.

I will check out your next blog.

Madonna: I have felt like Sam many times in my life. I started blogging a couple years ago, but I ended up quitting from loss of motivation. When things were not going good and I thought I was wasting my time is when I had to have the right mindset. Now, on the other hand, my mindset is completely different. Money is not on my mind and I just want to be happy doing what I love.

P.s. awesome blog keep working hard!

    Best wishes,

    Hi Madonna,

Thanks so much for this wonderful article. Can you please elaborate a bit more about what “Energy Psychology” is?

    Many thanks,
